As with any door schedule, fixture schedule, etc., Signage Message Scheduling ensures accurate and verifiable listing of sign type, material, placement, messaging, and counts.  

Left off of a bid set leaves room for costly errors, miscounts, misinterpretations and change orders.  Lost time and budget.

Location plans are your floorplans and siteplans for signage placement, requirements and verification.  This is also a valuable tool to ensure proper placement of any blocking, electrical, and special additional hardware for location specific installation.

Signage Specifications located in Division 10: Specialties Section 10 14 00.  Specifications outline material, fabrication, approved vendors, functionality, and compliance standards.  Without a developed specification set complete with detailed information, the bidding manufacturer is open to interpretation and you will never get Apples to Apples.

Creating a Sign program early in the design development process ensures accurate budgeting and determination if open sub bidding or allowance is appropriate.  Budget requirements can be addressed quickly, accurately and logically  in this phase.  Left to the sub-bidding phase, the design and functionality is subject to dwindling resources and time, and increasing stress and snap judgements.  

Developing a Signage and/or Wayfinding plan does not stop of the sign family and scheduling phase.  Depending on the project scope and complexity, you will also need to consider surveys, code review, vendor and material recommendations, Specification and Submittal reviews.  Kristian Studios is here to support your projects throughout the process from conceptual design to punch list and handover.
